No, it’s not, even though it’s always better to renew your visa or leave as fast as you can, it’s not a crime, most countries have waivers such as $10 a day, just in case something does go wrong. Be careful with Indonesia though, as it’s one of the most costly countries at $70 a day. Just get to the airport and not in trouble, if you get arrested or caught on the streets overstaying, you may get detention until you book a flight out. Also be careful of extortion. As we say, overstaying in a country is not a crime unless you are doing it on purpose!

Through our experience of dealing regularly with aIrlines, wie have learned our consumer rights.If you feel you are just hitting your head against a brick wall, tell them that you will be corresponding with the US Department Of Transport – UK ADR. ADR means settling your dispute without asking a court to decide on your issue, through the CAA site.This usely does the trick:) Plus there is a ADR fro every country, basically ADR is your obudsman!
