Before the days of Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, earning a living through blogging was a dream for many and achievable as shown worldwide, especially using platforms like WordPress. However, with so many new apps taking over it seems like blogging is a thing of the past and we’re constantly getting asked whether it’s still profitable? Still a viable concept?

Social media is constantly changing. Apps aren’t going to be around forever, and many have already closed their doors. Having a blog allows you to own your content and share it across all social media channels. You have freedom of speech, and you can say and share whatever you want on your blog! Below is a list of reasons why you should look into starting a blog for business, or even just for fun! I started to catalogue my pics, memories, as I was travelling that much and collecting more hard drives, USB sticks and losing them, so initially I would pop them all into Space/clouds. Plus I had some great bad and good stories that I felt needed to be told for the new/old traveller. Thus starting a personal blog informative blog.

You’ll instantly become a boss / market leader / technology guru / writer / lifestyle coach.

Whether you’re a travel enthusiast, globetrotter, a business person, beach coach or a musician, creating a website and providing valuable information immediately thrusts you into the league of experts! Sure there are people that have more experience, but by supplying your audience and many audiences with information that they may not have had access to otherwise (or they just like your laid back lifestyle approach), means that you’re a step ahead in the game and you’re becoming a leader rather than a follower, also people can change and will change, just like us!

People will find you on Google, Firefox, Yahoo etc..

With the constant influx of new information, search engines will love you and your site. The more targeted keywords you’re introducing, the higher the chances are of you ranking on Google and the others – the more eyeballs = the more income. Remember as well, nearly everyone has a computer, whether its a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone, you have the world at your fingertips 24/7 through different time zones.

Having a blog presence provides more opportunities for you to create collaborations and partnerships with the businesses that fit your niche.

Collaborations could be writing an article about a restaurant or excursion or just a simple link on your relevant pages, what’s more, you’re getting paid for doing it and also providing more content for your blog, which search engines love to remember!

We all know that blogging can be beneficial for your business, however, it’s not the only way to make it a success.
