Do you want to explore a place, where you can find whatever you want?

You will understand a little later why Turkey, one of the top 7 most visited countries in the world, is so preferred.

This is one of the first reasons of 8 reasons you should visit Turkey. for this is the climatic differences between certain regions of Turkey.

In the same period, you can experience the spring in the north, the summer in the south, the winter in the east, so you can ski one day and go south and sunbathe in the sea, or if you are uncomfortable with the heat, you can go to the north and go on a plateau tour.

3. Travel to Turkey: Historical

Modern Turkey was founded in 1923 from the Anatolian remnants of the defeated Ottoman Empire by national hero Mustafa Kemal, who was later honoured with the title Ataturk, or “Father of the Turks.” Under his authoritarian leadership, the country adopted wide-ranging social, legal, and political reforms

You have got to use all the 5 senses to appreciate the people: See, touch, taste, hear and smell. You won’t be disappointed and one of 8 reasons you should visit Turkey.

If you are a Mediterranean cuisine lover. I think Turkish food will be great for you too. If you have experienced a full Greek cuisine before, you will not find much difference between them.

I have to say they are good at dessert. its dark side is a calorie bomb Turkish dessert. Below is what I have regularly for my breakfast. Borak and black Turkish tea start the day well!

6. All-year-round climate.

7. Close to home

I was born in England, so when I do travel to Turkey, I mix it also with another great pleasure of mine, seeing my family, friends, and the beautiful parts of the United Kingdom.

Killing two birds with one stone, expression comes to mind:) Therefore if you live in Europe, it’s an ideal destination!

8. The coastline

The Lycian Way, one of the world’s greatest hiking trails, winds along its famously blue Turquoise Coast, and over 450 Blue Flag beaches.

Whose backdrop changes from lavish 5-star resorts to idyllic villages to marvellous pine-clad mountains – promise endless fun in and another one of the 8 reasons why you should travel to Turkey.

Pros and Cons of living in Turkey, I’ve experienced the last 4 months.

Pros:

  • Cost of living: Turkey is one of the most affordable countries in Europe and as mentioned in our number 1 article @ present it’s like 50% off everything. This may not last though as prices are going up due to the exchange rate and many local Turkish businesses feeling the high inflation.
  • Transport is everywhere from hiring electric scooters on most streets via your mobile, to paying as you use.
  • Trams in Antalya, are abundant of taxis and can be flagged by pressing a yellow box button in various places, buses galore and main buses to all of Turkey’s destinations.
  • All prices are at a very reasonable cost. Examples: Bus from Antalya to Kemer 30km = 18 Lira, most taxi rides 4-6km around 30 Lira.
  • Open markets: on different days to get your fish, vegetables, and clothes. The one I use at Pizaar also has a car boat part and a huge open fresh food market, not seen any butchers yet though.

8 reasons you should visit Turkey

  • Sales: mostly in kilos, very reasonable, check it out, it’s a must! Tomatoes 6 Lira / Kilo – Oranges 3.10 Lira / K – Cabbages 5 Lira / K –
  • Hospitals / Denticians / Healthcare: All government facilities are at a reasonable price. Met many people having a paid health break for teeth, surgery etc.
  • Turkish citizens: They are always friendly and polite, learn the basic words to break down the barriers and they will always try to help if they can! Many Syrians work in the country and other nationalities.
  • Fruit: Oranges, and lemons, seems to grow on trees:), and many streets around local areas have them planted on the roadside, so when ready, feel free to help yourself or even better pick the ones that have dropped on the floor, killing two birds with one stone!
  • Residency: If you wish to stay longer than your entry visa, you can apply for a residency permit/extension. Tried and tested and achieved with a very reasonable timescale and payment.
  • Police clearance/check: If you require a police clearance for visiting other countries or working in them, these are easy to achieve. Download the E-Devlet application form. You can obtain one instantly from this app. Remember you must at least have residency though!. If you’re having problems accessing the site, go to a local PTT office and pay for a password. Again take your residence ID number and mobile associated with it!

Cons:

  • Taxis: Most don’t know where they’re going or are lost in language, I use google translate and Google maps on my smartphone and often end up setting the destination for them to follow, with them using my smartphone lol.
  • Language: This can be a barrier at times, just be humble as they will help if they can. Remember English is not compulsory at schools and the ones that do speak it, speak broken English. Remember, you’re in their country, so they have the right not to speak your language.
  • Hospitals: If you need to use them and you have to stay in them, remember they don’t usually have the same service as the UK hospitals, you need a helper/partner for bringing food in, no-call buttons in the rooms, or ward staff checking on you if you need something urgently. However don’t panic, if you are in the country by yourself, it works itself out:)
